ATA Airlines Crewmembers Ratify Letters of Agreement

WASHINGTON, D.C.--- ATA Airlines flight deck crewmembers, as represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), have voted to support their Concessions and New Equipment Letters of Agreement package to their current collective bargaining agreement. Out of 896 crewmembers eligible to vote, 72 percent voted in favor of the agreement.

In response to the approval vote, ATA Airlines Master Executive Council Chairman, Capt. Erik Engdahl issued the following statement:

"The ATA crewmembers have voted to support economic concessionary measures that will assist our management to fly through this difficult time. We consider our assistance something that will pay numerous dividends when our airline again becomes profitable. With this vote our crewmembers have sent a clear message to Wall Street that we stand behind our management and, more importantly, we will survive in these uncertain times."

Founded in 1931, ALPA is the world’s oldest and largest pilot union and represents 64,000 airline pilots at 42 airlines in the United States and Canada. Visit the ALPA website at www.alpa.org.
