ALPA’s Calm Air Pilots Ratify New Contract

WASHINGTON, DC --- The Calm Air pilots have ratified their contract by more than a 94 percent margin.

Contract improvements in wages, per diem, and pension were the top issues for the pilot group, which is represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA).

"We are extremely pleased with the excellent cooperation from Calm Air management in achieving this contract," said Capt. Glenn MacKenzie, chairman of the Calm Air unit of ALPA. "Management came to us with an outstanding proposal that we were able to accept with minor modifications," he added.

Calm Air operates out of bases in Winnipeg and Thompson, and serves markets in Manitoba and the Nunavut with countrywide charter available.

Founded in 1931, ALPA is the world’s largest pilot union representing 64,000 pilots at 42 airlines in the United States and Canada. Visit the ALPA website at www.alpa.org.
