Gemini Air Cargo ALPA Crewmembers Approve Labor Contract Amendments

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Crewmembers of Gemini Air Cargo, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), today ratified the amendments to the labor contract reached in June. Of the 194 crewmembers eligible to vote, 85 percent participated with 51 percent voting for the amendments to the current collective bargaining agreement. Last month, 66 percent of the Gemini crewmembers rejected a previous proposal.

“Gemini Air Cargo crewmembers will see improvements to their current contract”, said Captain Bill Atchison, chairman of the Gemini Air Cargo ALPA unit. “These include adding specifics in bid cycle definitions, a lessening of medical co-pays, specifics on approval authority for upgrades and compensation increases.”

Gemini Air Cargo is a worldwide all-cargo carrier that operates a fleet of MD-11 and DC-10 freighter aircraft.

Founded in 1931, ALPA is the largest pilot union, representing 61,000 cockpit crewmembers at 40 airlines in the U.S. and Canada. Visit the ALPA Website at http://www.alpa.org.
