FedEx Pilots to Conduct Informational Picketing in Seattle

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Now in their 27th month of contract negotiations, FedEx pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), will conduct informational picketing on Wednesday, June 21, outside the ITEC IT Conference in Seattle to show their increasing frustration with management’s unwillingness to legitimately address the pilots’ issues in negotiations. The pilots have been working without a new contract for more than two years.

“Our pilots have clearly told us that two years is too long in these negotiations considering our reasonable proposals and the pilots’ contributions to FedEx’s remarkable profitability,” said Captain David Webb, chairman of the FedEx unit of ALPA. “Despite our continued efforts to reach an agreement, FedEx management has chosen to respond with regressive offers that are reflective of opportunistic greed in a time of airline industry turmoil.”
