Delta Pilots Fill Leadership Void With Employee Reach Out

ATLANTA, Ga -- The pilots of Delta Air Lines are reaching out to Delta’s employees in an effort to improve morale with a campaign titled “WE ARE DELTA.” Unlike the current group of senior executives at Delta, the Delta pilots realize that people matter: the airline business is a service industry, and employee morale is an integral part of providing that service.

The pilots are all too aware that front-line Delta employees are the heart and soul of Delta Air Lines. During the reach-out campaign, pilots will distribute small tokens of appreciation throughout the Delta workforce displaying the slogan “WE ARE DELTA.” The campaign is intended to show that the Delta pilots appreciate the efforts and sacrifices of all Delta employees. Management teams come and go and it is the Delta employees that keep our great airline flying.

Founded in 1931, the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l ( ALPA) represents 62,000 pilots at 39 airlines in the U.S. and Canada. ALPA represents approximately 6,000 active Delta Air Lines pilots and 500 furloughed Delta pilots. Visit the ALPA website at http://www.alpa.org and the Delta pilots’ website at http://www.deltapilots.org/.
