Delta Air Line Pilots to Picket

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Delta Air Line pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), will conduct informational picketing in three cities along the East coast to demonstrate their continued disappointment with Delta management’s intransigence at the negotiating table and their apparent intent to use the bankruptcy process to reject the pilots’ contract.

Delta Air Lines management failed to reach an agreement with the pilots, which leads to the next step in the Letter 50 process. Management’s 1113 motion to reject the contract will be decided within 45 days by a three-member neutral panel. The goal of the union is to negotiate a comprehensive agreement. The union remains available for further negotiations and will continue to work toward a comprehensive agreement that meets the legitimate financial needs of our company while meeting the long terms goals of the pilots.

Picketing will take place as follows:

Hartsfield Jackson Airport
Atlanta, Georgia
Tuesday, March 7: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST

LaGuardia Airport
New York City, New York
Tuesday, March 7: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. EST
Wednesday, March 8: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST

Tuesday, March 7: 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST

Founded in 1931, ALPA represents 62,000 pilots at 39 airlines in the U.S. and Canada. ALPA represents approximately 6,000 active DAL pilots and 500 furloughed DAL pilots. Visit the ALPA website at http://www.alpa.org and the Delta pilots’ website at www.deltapilots.org.
