FedEx Pilots to Conduct Informational Picketing in Washington

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Now in their 17th month of contract negotiations, FedEx pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), will conduct informational picketing on Thursday, August 11, outside the FedEx Kinko’s on 15th Street in Washington, D.C., to show their continuing frustration with the slow pace of talks. The pilots have been working without a new contract for more than a year.

“This week’s negotiations in Washington are about job security and we want to highlight our pilots’ concerns about that critical issue,” said Captain David Webb, chairman of the FedEx unit of ALPA. “We, along with the other FedEx Express employees, have invested tremendous personal effort in building FedEx into the most recognized transportation brand in the world and we expect the security of knowing our American jobs will not be outsourced to foreign labor.”
