SEATTLE -- Leaders of the Alaska Airlines pilot group, as represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), have elected a new slate of officers to serve two-year terms. The Alaska Airlines Master Executive Council (MEC) elected Captain Mark Bryant as chairman, Captain Paul Emmert as vice-chairman and Captain Blane Dye as secretary/treasurer. The new officers take office immediately and will serve two-year terms through April 2006.

Captain Mark Bryant, a Los Angeles- based Boeing 737 pilot, has flown with Alaska Airlines for more than eight years. Captain Bryant previously flew with Express One Int’l Inc. While at Alaska Airlines, Bryant most recently served as MEC vice-chairman, was an elected representative for Los Angeles-based first officers and has volunteered as a member of numerous ALPA committees, including the Professional Standards, Strategic Planning, Security and Special Representation Structure Committees. He resides in Houston, TX, with his wife Janet and son Benjamin Wood.

Captain Paul Emmert is an 18-year Alaska Airlines pilot, based in Los Angeles. He previously worked for Jet America Airlines, prior to its merger with Alaska Airlines, and has flown with the United States Air Force. Captain Emmert most recently served two terms as secretary-treasurer of the MEC and has also served as secretary-treasurer for the Los Angeles local council. Captain Emmert graduated from the United States Air Force Academy. He resides in Tucson, AZ, with his wife Gloria and daughter Kayla.

Captain Blane Dye is a Seattle-based Boeing 737 pilot who has flown for Alaska Airlines for more than eight years. Captain Dye previously flew for the United States Marines and received his degree from the University of Washington. He also previously served on the ALPA Membership Committee. He resides in Redmond, WA with his wife Danette and daughters Emma and Lauren.

The Alaska Airlines pilots Master Executive Council is composed of six representatives and three officers, who are elected from more than 1,500 Alaska Airlines pilots. The Air Line Pilots Association, International, is the world’s oldest and largest pilots union, representing 64,000 pilots at 42 airline carriers in the United States and Canada.
