Delta Air Lines Pilots To Picket in Boston
Demonstration of Unity and Resolve

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Delta Air Lines pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), will conduct informational picketing in Boston at Logan International Airport on Monday, April 3, 2006.

The picketing event is one of many across the nation where pilots are demonstrating their disappointment with Delta management’s apparent intent to use the bankruptcy process to reject the pilots’ contract. Captain Lee Moak, Chairman of the Delta pilots union, responded to company allegations of posturing, “We are prepared and we will strike if the company rejects the long standing pilot contract.” At any point, Delta management could withdraw their 1113 motion to reject the contract and return to the long standing practice of negotiating.

The goal of the union remains to negotiate a comprehensive agreement in accordance with Letter 50 and under the direction of the union’s elected leadership. The union has been working diligently in a good faith effort to negotiate a comprehensive agreement that meets the legitimate financial needs of our company while meeting the long terms goals of the pilots.

Picket Event:

Logan International Airport
Delta Terminal (Terminal A)
3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Media Spokesperson:
Capt. Dino Atsalis, (603) 772-5828

Founded in 1931, ALPA represents 62,000 pilots at 39 airlines in the U.S. and Canada. ALPA represents approximately 6,000 active DAL pilots and 500 furloughed DAL pilots. Visit the ALPA website at http://www.alpa.org and the Delta pilots’ website at www.deltapilots.org.
