Delta Air Line Pilots to Picket in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. - Delta Air Line pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int'l (ALPA), will conduct informational picketing in Atlanta to demonstrate their disappointment with Delta management's apparent intent to use the bankruptcy process to reject the pilots' contract.

The goal of the union remains to negotiate a comprehensive agreement in accordance with Letter 50 and under the direction of the Union's elected leadership. The union has been working diligently in a good faith effort to negotiate a comprehensive agreement that meets the legitimate financial needs of our Company while meeting the long terms goals of the pilots.

Chairman Lee Moak said, "I am disappointed to report that management's actions at the table indicate they are not committed to reaching a consensual agreement on terms we consider reasonable or acceptable. Their continued reluctance to soften their outrageous demands and address our issues is creating a seemingly impenetrable roadblock to progress. We are prepared, unified, and will fight for our contract."

Picketing will take place as follows:
Hartsfield/Jackson International Airport
Outside of the South Terminal Dropoff
10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Feb. 17

Founded in 1931, ALPA represents 62,000 pilots at 39 airlines in the U.S. and Canada. ALPA represents approximately 6,000 active DAL pilots and 500 furloughed DAL pilots. Visit the ALPA website at http://www.alpa.org and the Delta pilots' website at www.deltapilots.org.
