FedEx Pilots to Conduct Informational Picketing at FedEx Corporation Investors and Lenders Meeting in New York

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Now in their 19th month of contract negotiations, FedEx pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), will conduct informational picketing on Wednesday, October 5, outside the FedEx Corporation Investors and Lenders meeting at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The pilots, who have been working without a new contract for more than a year, are picketing to show their continuing frustration with management’s inability to legitimately address the pilots’ issues in negotiations.

“Our pilots are growing frustrated with management’s inaction at the negotiating table and even more so in light of the continued investor and executive enrichment shareholders approved last week by increasing the stock available for options and restricted grants,” said Captain David Webb, chairman of the FedEx unit of ALPA. “FedEx management needs to readdress the increasingly large proportion of corporate profits going to investors and executives at the expense of all FedEx employees who generate those profits.”

More information on the pilots’ ongoing negotiations can be found at www.fedexlabortalks.com.
